Description

Barokah Kerinci Honey comes from the energetic Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative, located 1,400 to 1,700 metres up the volcanic slopes of Mount Kerinci in Sumatra, where hundreds of smallholder farmers cultivate tiny biodiverse plots packed with coffee fruit and vegetables. This honey processed lot, built on the local Andung Sari and Sigarar Utang varieties, is dried slowly on raised beds under domes, letting the sticky mucilage cling to the beans and amplify sweetness as it caramelises. The result is a rich and expressive cup overflowing with red apple brightness, stewed fruit depth and a sticky sweet date like finish that feels both comforting and vibrant. Shaped by volcanic soils, meticulous processing and a fast rising cooperative obsessed with quality, this coffee is one of the most exciting and characterful expressions coming out of Indonesia today.
